Subject: Designs with I/O Buffers & DC 1997.08 Need Power Analysis Key
John,
I have noticed that many of your readers have experienced FATAL ERROR
ENCOUNTERED when compiling with 1997.08. We were experiencing this problem
using the AMI 6G5 library.
We traced the problem to I/O buffers. If there was an I/O buffer in the
design, the compiler would crash.
We turned it in to the Synopsys support center and they could not
re-create the problem.
All of a sudden I received an email from Synopsys containing a Power
Compiler key and a note indicating that this would solve my problem. Sure
enough, the compiler completed without crashing on the design and our test
cases. I don't know what the plan is for a permanent fix, but this seems
to work fine so far.
