Subject: DC 98.02 Has Memory Leaks With Set_driving_cell, & Wide Vectors

Hi, John,

I recently found a new 1998.02 bug.

Seems like 1998.02 has a problem with a large number of inputs (thousands)
and the set_driving_cell command. Most of my inputs are unused. A large
vector is passed in (to transfer configuration information from a central
point) to various sub-modules of my design. FWIW I ran into the problem
using lsi logic's lcbg10p library and the following command.

         set_driving_cell -cell N1A -pin Z all_inputs()

There is a memory leak that occurs during mapping. 1997.08 works just fine,
but 1998.02 uses all available memory before completing mapping. Synopsys
knows of the problem, but no fix yet. (Star 54794) The -1 patch does not
fix the problem.
