As a past master of spin control, I was able to deduce the following from
the recent Avant! press release doing damagment (damage management) on the
recent court banning of Aquarius.
What Gerry Hsu (CEO of Avant!) said...
"We expect to keep growing and intend to become the most diversified
company in the ICDA industry. Since these original charges were brought,
Avant! has grown into a complete front-end to back-end vendor and the
world's foremost supplier of TCAD to ECAD solutions."
What it means...
"Don't sell our stock! We will rely upon other areas of revenue now that
it is clear that we've been caught. We originally stole some source code
to get us going, take us public, and get enough cash to acquire companies
that were clean. We now have a lot of other revenue producing tools, so
don't worry, Mr. Stockholder!"
