Hi John,
At the time I used Clockwise it was at the early stages of their inital
release, and (as I stated in what I wrote to ESNUG) I also ran into
several bugs. The interface I used was one I wrote to get into LSI Logic's
internal tools (they were not using Avanti at the time) and it was trivial
to do. Himanshu used ClockWise with Avanti -- not me -- I used ClockWise
with LSI internal tools.
I do know that ClockWise was originally written to work with Cadence, and
that Avanti was to be a later bolt on.
ClockWise worked for me on a design I was having major problems getting
timing closure on (saved me more than 1 ns) and we have working silicon
back. But, again, this wasn't with Avanti tools.
