Subject: Surprise!  VCS 6.2 FCS Doesn't Support gcc On 64-bit Solaris!

Hi, John,

I've been using the VCS 6.2 beta versions for the past few months.  I've
been pretty impressed with the compile & sim speeds of the newer releases,
so that really got me motivated to use the VCS 6.2 FCS version that was
just announced.  Surprise!   VCS with gcc is not supported for 64-bit
compiles on Solaris!  After many emails between tech support, I've been
told that for 64-bit Slowaris, only the Sun C compiler is supported and
gcc will be supported "in the future" with no anticipated release date.
