Subject: SNUG'02 & HDLcon'02 Attendance Numbers
UP & DOWN: Overall user attendance for SNUG'02 was 451 customers. Compared
to last year's 485 customers, that's a 7 percent drop in attendance -- not
bad for a conference in the middle of a recession.
This year's bad economy was even more evident in the HDLcon numbers. The
total attendance for HDLcon'02 was 623 people, up 30 percent from last year
but not really. Yup. But not really. Last year, 210 people were free
'Exhibit Only' HDLcon attendees. This year, 446 people attended HDLcon'02
wearing free 'Exhibit Only' badges. That means that only 177 people
actually attended the papers/panels/presentations part of HDLcon itself this
year -- a 35 percent drop because of the hurting economy.
"Overall I was impressed at the turnout at SNUG --- close to 500 people
in this economy was a pretty good attendance."
