Hi John,

Please keep me anonymous -- I believe that my employer and Cadence would
probably not be happy if they knew that I wrote this.

I personally find Cadence's strategy of renting out a separate location from
the DAC floor this year, to be, putting it lightly, inconvenient. I didn't
find the excuses their employees proferred to be very convincing when I
directly confronted them about this.

  1. "It's more comfortable here, isn't it?" (referring to the Four
Seasons Hotel ) -- Yeah it is, but the chairs and rooms at DAC were
     perfectly comfortable, too.

  2. "It's free, too." -- My company has already paid valuable dollars to
fly me down to SFO, send me to DAC, and stay in an expensive town.
I'm not about to simply just visit Cadence marketing just because
they were free outside of DAC. For that I can always call my local
account manager who will be glad to send some half-truth telling AE.
I'm at DAC to see if anyone can solve my problem; which, when I
confronted Cadence with, they had no answers to.

  3. "We can control registration easier." -- Considering other big EDA
companies had little issue with controlling registration into their
demos, are you implying Cadence employees can not even handle a
     chicken raffle?

  4. "Well, you can go see all the other vendors tomorrow." -- It takes
my valuable time and energy to fly to wherever DAC is, and then
having to take extra time specifically to see the Cadence products,
and then take the extra time to return to the DAC floor to see the
other vendors, is disingenuous by half.

I find the above Cadence attitudes to be most disrespectful of both my time
and intelligence.
