Subject: Mentor FPGA Laughs that Synplicity is Playing Catch-Up To Mentor

Hi, John,

I'm writing you about the recent Lattice/Synplicity press release.

            http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/050418/185510.html

In it, Synplicity announces they're working on a bunch of Lattice
specific features. The catch is that Mentor Precision ALREADY HAS
retiming and memory inference support for the new Lattice families (EC,
ECP, XP). We also have pipelining support of multipliers using the DSP
blocks in LatticeECP-DSP family.

Its nice to see Synplicity publically acknowledge they have lost the
lead to us in FPGA Synthesis.
