Dear John,
Thanks so much for including Tanner EDA in your DAC report. It's great to
see our tools getting such prominent coverage.
I do feel compelled to write regarding the opening summary you offer in your
column.
As I read the user comments in your report, the theme that emanates is more
around Tanner offering a fundamentally different paradigm; one that is based
on value and having a cohesive balance of features, interoperability and
usability. This significantly differs from your opening 'Dollar Stores'
characterization. Our goal is to provide a competitive product with lowest
overall cost of ownership -- Tanner tools don't require an army of CAD
engineers to integrate and support.
During our 22 year history, Tanner EDA products have been used by designers
in a range of commercial and research settings. We're proud to include in
our user community a significant base of true design pioneers; bringing such
breakthroughs as Bluetooth and the Mars Rover imaging system into being.
I would appreciate if this clarification is reflected as part of your
DAC posting.
