Subject: Mentor's Displaced Worker Program has trained 996 engineers
From: Tom Floodeen <tom_floodeen=user domain=mentor not mom>
Hi, John,
With so many designers still out of work, I'd like to remind folks about
training resources from Mentor. Our Displaced Worker Program offers
unemployed designers and engineers free training on our tools.
Since we founded the program in 2002, we've given out 996 seats of training
to out-of-work engineers. Most of that, in the two recent recessions.
It's a win-win program we think. Engineers broaden and sharpen their
skills so they can find their next job, and we're always happy when more
people know how to use Mentor tools.
We fulfill as many of the training requests as we can based on the
timing and availability of classes. If someone registers, and lets us
know which classes he would like to take, we'll notify him when we have
open seats in one of our scheduled courses. We also use Live Online
Training to expand the capacity so we can train more program
participants. During the 2009 holiday season, we scheduled Live Online
classes specifically for displaced worker training.

Here's hoping that all of our friends out there are back to work soon.
